I’ve been working with Bobby for the greater part of two years, and his guidance has been crucial for my development as a student, a young professional, and a learner. When we started, Bobby promptly demonstrated his mastery of the art of tutoring through interactive lessons and targeted practice assignments. Not only did his approach help me in precalculus, which I had originally needed him for, but Bobby’s instruction and advice helped me in my standardized testing as well as in every aspect of my high school academic career.
I saw a dramatic increase in my SAT score after working with Bobby over the summer. This motivated me to apply to the most competitive schools in the country. Bobby unlocked my greatest potential in standardized testing and brought my college admissions process to the major leagues.
Perhaps more importantly, my work and academic reports reflect Bobby’s efforts to provide the best possible learning experience for me. As a kid who’s learned from many teachers and tutors throughout my life, I can confidently say that Bobby has by far been the best. Unlike most teachers and tutors used in our education system, Bobby takes the time to ensure each of his students not only learns how to solve a particular problem, but to understand why it is solved that way. School teachers and most tutors just have their students memorize a grammar rule or equation and move on, which creates problems later down the road on tests such as the ACT or SAT because students either forget what they memorized or simply don’t understand how to apply it to a certain problem. Bobby’s way of teaching allows students to easily apply a concept to any type of problem at any point in time by helping them fully grasp why things work that way, instead of just shoving one part of it into their head to regurgitate onto paper later on. This way, his students actually learn and absorb important ideas. For example, as someone who always struggled in math despite having multiple tutors and staying after class every week to try to do better, I thought it was always my fault for scoring poorly in math, but after working with Bobby, I quickly realized it wasn’t a problem with me, but a problem in how I was taught. With Bobby I was able to understand why things equal zero, instead of just being told that they do in certain problems and moving on. He explained the reasoning behind concepts which made things make infinitely more sense. In doing this, not only have my scores on class tests and the ACTs doubled, but I know what it’s like to actually learn a subject, rather than memorize it. My time with Bobby has been invaluable, and I encourage anyone who is either struggling in a certain area of study or simply trying to further educate themselves to make use of Bobby’s skills and expertise.
